REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figures 1, 2 and 3

  1. Remove the transaxle assembly from the vehicle.
  2.

  1. On manual transaxles, remove the 8 retaining bolts for the flywheel.
  2.  
  3. On automatics, remove the 8 bolts, front plate, drive plate and rear spacer.
  4.  

To install:
  1. On manual transaxles, apply adhesive to the first 2-3 threads of the bolt end. Three bond 1324 or equivalent is recommended.

    1. Install the flywheel on the crankshaft.
    2.  
    3. Install and uniformly tighten the 8 bolts in several passes in sequence as shown in the illustration to 65 ft. lbs. (88 Nm).

  1. On automatics, apply adhesive to the first 2-3 threads of the bolt end. Three bond 1324 or equivalent is recommended.

  1. Install the driveplate on the crankshaft.
  2.  
  3. Install and uniformly tighten the 8 bolts in several passes in sequence as shown in the illustration to 47 ft. lbs. (64 Nm).
