Removal & Installation



Door Mounted
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait at least 90 seconds after the battery cable has been disconnected before proceeding, this will hinder air bag deployment.
  2.  


CAUTION
Models covered are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which uses an air bag. Whenever working near any of the SRS components, such as the impact sensors, the air bag module, steering column and instrument panel, disable the SRS, as described in this section.

  1. Make sure that the radio is off.
  2.  
  3. If equipped remove the power window switch or manual window handle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the upper door panel, then the lower door panel.
  6.  
  7. Label and disconnect the speaker wires.
  8.  
  9. Remove the 3 screws and the speaker.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal, secure all components.
  12.  

Rear Speakers
  1. Remove the rear seat assembly.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bracket for the rear side trim panel.
  4.  
  5. A lone bolt reside farther up the trim panel, remove it.
  6.  
  7. Pry off the speaker cover.
  8.  
  9. A large bolt is located in the upper portion of the speaker, remove this.
  10.  
  11. Remove any bolts retaining the trim panel to the side rear of the vehicle.
  12.  
  13. Lift the scuff plate along the carpets edge.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the wiring from the speaker, just push in the tab and pull.
  16.  
  17. Unbolt and remove the speaker with attached plastic bracket from the quarter panel.
  18.  
  19. Installation is the reverse of removal, secure all components.
