Brake (Stop) Lights
  1. Open the trunk lid and from inside remove the nuts holding the trim panel over the lamp assembly.

  1. From the outside of the vehicle, pull out the lamp far enough to disconnect the sockets from the lens.

  1. Label each socket prior to removal. Twist each socket one at a time to replace a bulb.

If the lens is being replaced. label all wiring prior to removal to identify each one during installation.

  1. To remove a light bulb with retaining pins from its socket, grasp the bulb, then gently depress and twist it 1/8 turn counterclockwise, and pull it from the socket.
  2.  

To install:

  1. Before installing a light bulb into the socket, ensure that all electrical contact surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt.
  2.  

Before installing the light bulb, note the positions of the two retaining pins on the bulb. They will likely be at different heights on the bulb, to ensure that the bulb is installed correctly. If, when installing the bulb, it does not turn easily, do not force it. Remove the bulb and rotate it 180 degrees from its former position, then reinsert it into the bulb socket.

  1. Insert the light bulb into the socket and, while depressing the bulb, twist it 1/8 turn clockwise until the two pins on the light bulb are properly engaged in the socket.
  2.  
  3. To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it too is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct if necessary.
  4.  
  5. Install the socket and bulb assembly into the rear of the lens housing.
  6.  
  7. Insert the lamp assembly and secure with the retaining screw.
  8.  
  9. Place the trim panel over the socket assembly and secure with the retaining nuts.
  10.  

High-Mount Brake Light
  1. On the coupe, pull the third brake light cover off the housing.
    1. Remove the screws holding the housing to the back dash panel.
    2.  
    3. Lift the housing out of the dash and remove the bulb to replace.

  3. On the liftback models, lift the trunk lid and remove the trim panel by sliding it out and down. Be careful not to damage the tabs.
    1. Twist the socket from inside the lamp housing to access the bulb.

    3. Twist the bulb from the socket and replace as needed.

License Plate Lights

Remove the Phillips head screws holding the lens from the license plate lamp. Carefully twist the bulb from its socket and replace if necessary.

Side Marker Lights
  1. Remove the lens from the body of the vehicle.
  2.

  1. Disengage the bulb and socket assembly from the lens housing.
  2.  
  3. Gently grasp the light bulb and pull it straight out of the socket.
  4.

To install:

  1. Before installing the light bulb into the socket, ensure that all electrical contact surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt.

  3. Line up the base of the light bulb with the socket, then insert the light bulb into the socket until it is fully seated.
  4.  
  5. To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it too is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct as necessary.

  7. Install the socket and bulb assembly into the lens housing.
