  1. Remove the rear wheel.
  2.  
  3. Adjust the brake shoe clearance.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear wheel.
  6.  
  7. Pull the parking brake lever to the fully applied position, and count the number of clicks (6 to 9 is optimal).
  8.  
  9. Remove the rear console box sub-assembly.
  10.  
  11. Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting nut until the lever travel turns correct.
  12.  
  13. Tighten the lock nut to 44 in. lbs. (5 Nm) of torque.
  14.  
  15. Install the rear console box assembly.
  16.  

Removal & Installation



  1. Loosen the rear wheel lugnuts on the side of the vehicle you are performing work on.
  2.

  1. Raise and support the rear of the vehicle. Remove the wheel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear caliper assembly.
  4.  
  5. Pull off the rear brake disc.
  6.  
  7. Remove the parking brake shoes.
  8.  
  9. Using pliers, disconnect the parking brake cable form the parking brake shoe lever.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Connect the parking brake cable to the parking brake shoe lever of the rear shoe.
  2.  
  3. Install the parking brake shoes.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear brake disc. Adjust the parking brake shoe clearance.
  6.  
  7. Attach the rear caliper assembly.
  8.  
  9. Install the wheel, lower the vehicle and settle the parking brake shoes and disc.
  10.  
  11. Recheck and adjust the parking brake lever.
  12.
