Rear Window Wiper/Washer System

Motor/Blade/Arm



  1. Lift the rear wiper blade spring release tab and pull the blade assembly from the arm.

  1. Place a rag under the arm end touching the glass. This will hinder the arm from scratching the glass.
  2.  
  3. Lift the arm retaining nut cap to expose the nut.
  4.  
  5. Place matchmarks on the nut and pivot.
  6.  
  7. Remove the nut and lift the arm off the pivot on a rocking motion.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Place the arm on the pivot with the matchmarks in position.
  2.  
  3. Install the nut, aligning the nut marks with that of the arm and pivot. Tighten the nut to approximately 48 inch lbs. (5 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Attach the blade to the arm.
  6.  
  7. Align the wiper arm. Operate the arm and blade assembly and turn off the switch while the arm is in the upright position.
  8.  
  9. The wiper blade should be approximately an inch from the edge of the glass as shown in the illustration.
  10.  

  1. Remove the wiper arm and blade.
  2.  
  3. Carefully remove the rear door inner panel. Inspect all trim panel clips and replace any that may have been damaged during removal.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the wiper motor wring and loosen the retaining bolts.
  6.  
  7. Extract the motor through the hole in the door.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Insert the wiper motor through the opening in the door. Place the motor over the mounting holes and secure with the bolts.
  2.  
  3. Attach the wring to the motor.
  4.  
  5. Place the trim cover on the door and press down hard enough to engage the clips.
  6.  
  7. Close the rear door and attach the wiper arm and blade assembly.
  8.  
  9. Align the wiper arm. Operate the arm and blade assembly and turn off the switch while the arm is in the upright position.
  10.  
  11. The wiper blade should be approximately an inch from the edge of the glass as shown in the illustration.
