Rear Wheel Alignment

Print

See Figure 1 and 2

The Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) is equipped on the 1982-85 Supra and 1983-85 Celica GT-S models.

Rear wheel alignment on independent rear suspension cars should be performed at a reputable wheel alignment shop or authorized Toyota service facility. Before proper alignment can be performed, check the tires for unusual wear and correct inflation. Check the rear wheel bearings for looseness, and give the rear shocks the standard bounce test.

Toe-in and camber can be adjusted on the IRS. Toe is adjusted at the rear suspension arm mounting bolt. Check camber with a wheel alignment tester; if camber is out of tolerance, inspect the rear wheel bearings, constant velocity joints and wheel run-out. Replace any worn parts. Toe-in and camber specifications are as noted in the alignment specifications chart.
