The clutch driven disc contains asbestos which has been determined to be a cancer causing agent. Never clean clutch surfaces with compressed air. Avoid inhaling any dust from any clutch area! When cleaning clutch surfaces, use commercially available brake cleaning fluids

The clutch is a single plate, dry disc type. Some early models use a coil spring pressure plate. Later models use a diaphragm spring pressure plate. On most models, clutch release bearings are sealed ball bearing units which need no lubrication and should never be washed in any kind of solvent.
