Toyota Corolla 1970-1987 Repair Guide

The grille can usually be removed without removing any other parts. The grille is held on by a number of fasteners. Raise the hood and look for screws placed vertically in front of the metalwork. Other screws may be positioned horizontally, in front of or recessed in the grille. Remove the retainer screws and lift the grille from the vehicle.

Upon installation, make sure that all the retainers are installed in their original locations. As grilles are often made of thin materials, do NOT overtighten the fasteners or you may crack the grille mounting tabs.
