Toyota Corolla 1970-1987 Repair Guide

Body Lubrication

There is no set period recommended by Toyota for body lubrication. However, it is a good idea to lubricate the following body points at least once a year, especially in the fall before cold weather.

Use engine oil on the following points:

Door lock latches.
Door lock rollers.
Door, hood and hinge pivots.Use Lubriplate® (or an equivalent lubricating compound) here:
Trunk lid latch and hinge.
Glove box door latch.
Front seat slidesUse silicone spray at these locations:
All rubber weather stripping.
Hood stops.

When you are finished lubricating any body part, be sure that all the excess lubricant has been wiped off, especially in the areas of the car which may come in contact with clothing.
