Back-up Light Switch

The reverse light or back-up light switch is mounted in the top area of the manual transaxle housing. Its removal and replacement is easily accomplished by disengaging the wiring connector from the switch and unscrewing the switch from the case (always replace the mounting gasket below it). A specially sized socket or an equivalent removal tool may be necessary for this service operation. Install the new switch and tighten it 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm). Reinstall the electrical connector. Turn key to the ON position, depress clutch pedal and place shifter in REVERSE position. Check operation of back-up lights.
