REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Corona (1970-73) and Mark II 4 Cylinder

  1. Working from under the instrument panel, unfasten the defroster hoses from the heater box.
  2.  
  3. Unplug the multiconnector.
  4.  
  5. Loosen the mounting screws and withdraw the blower assembly.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  8.  

Corona 1974-82
  1. Remove the package tray.
  2.  
  3. Remove the trim panel.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the heater blower motor wiring harness.
  6.  
  7. Loosen the three screws which secure the motor to the housing and remove the motor blower assembly.
  8.  
  9. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
  10.  

Mark II 6 Cylinder 1972-77
  1. Remove the center console, if equipped, by removing the shift knob (manual), unfastening the wiring, connector, and undoing the console securing screws.
  2.  
  3. Unfasten the heater blower wiring connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the three bolts which secure the blower motor to the heater box.
  6.  
  7. Withdraw the motor, complete with fan, from the box.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  10.  

Crown
2M ENGINE
  1. Remove the air cleaner, complete with its attendant hoses.
  2.  
  3. Remove the left-hand front fender and the wheel arch. (Both are bolted in place).
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the three bolts which secure the heater blower motor to the heater box.
  6.  
  7. Withdraw the motor, complete with the fan.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  10.  

4M ENGINE
  1. Unfasten the cables and remove the battery. Next remove the ignition coil and fuel filter.
  2.  
  3. Raise the front of the car and support it with jackstands.
  4.  


CAUTION
Be sure that the car is securely supported. Remember, you will be working underneath it.

  1. Remove the left-hand wheel arch by unfastening its retaining bolts.
  2.  
  3. Unfasten the bolts which secure the heater blower motor; withdraw it, complete with the fan.
  4.  
  5. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
  6.  

Cressida
  1. Remove the parcel tray located under the dash.
  2.  
  3. Remove the two discharge duct bracket mounting screens, and then remove the two brackets and the duct.
  4.  
  5. Remove the mounting screw, and remove the right side forward console cover.
  6.  
  7. Unscrew the mounting screw and remove the relay bracket located under the motor.
  8.  
  9. Remove the three mounting screws, and remove the motor, gasket, and blower assembly. If necessary, remove the blower mounting nut and washers, and remove the blower from the shaft.
  10.  
  11. Install in reverse order.
  12.
