  1. Run the engine at idle speed with the A/C on for 10 minutes.
  2.  
  3. Stop the engine.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Unplug the clutch lead wire from the harness.
  8.  
  9. Have an authorized service station discharge the refrigerant from the cooling system.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the two hoses from the compressor service valves. Cap the opening fitting immediately to keep moisture out of the system.
  12.  
  13. Loosen the drive belt and remove the compressor mounting bolts and compressor.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Install the compressor with the mounting bolts.
  2.  
  3. Install the drive belt.
  4.  
  5. Attach the two hoses to the compressor service valves. Tighten both discharge and suction lines to 16-18 ft. lbs. (22-25 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Connect the clutch lead wire to the wiring harness.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  
  11. Have the A/C system evacuated, charged and check for leaks by an authorized service station.
