REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Raise and support the rear axle housing and frame safely. Be sure to leave the jack under the rear axle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the nut holding the lateral control rod to the rear axle housing and disconnect the lateral control rod.
  4.  
  5. Remove the nut holding the lateral control rod to the body and remove the lateral control rod.
  6.  

To install:

  1. In order to remove the lateral control arm bushings, it will be necessary to use a hydraulic press to press out the old ones and press in the new ones.
  2.  
  3. Raise the axle housing until the housing is free from the jack stands. Install the lateral control rod to the frame with the retaining nut.
  4.  
  5. Install the lateral control rod, but do not tighten the nut.
  6.  
  7. Remove the jack stands and bounce the car to stabilize the suspension.
  8.  
  9. Raise the axle housing until the body is free from the jack stands and tighten the lateral control rod nut (axle housing side) to 43 ft. lbs. (59 Nm). and the body side nut to 81 ft. lbs. (110 Nm).
