TESTING



  1. Start the engine and let it run until it reaches normal operating temperature.
  2.  
  3. Separate the throttle position sensor connector from the throttle position sensor.
  4.  
  5. Short circuit terminals E1 (E2 on some models) and IDL on the wire connector side. Gradually raise the engine rpm and check that there is fluctuation between the fuel cut and fuel return points. The fuel cut rpm should be 1,800 rpm and the fuel return points 1,200 rpm; on the Van models the fuel cut rpm 2200 rpm and the fuel return point is 1800 rpm.
  6.  

The vehicle should be stopped.
