  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect fusible link.
  4.  
  5. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity of the fusible link. If there is no continuity, replace the fusible link.
  6.  
  7. Reconnect the fusible link.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the connector at the fan motor.
  10.  
  11. Using the fan motor wiring harness, apply battery voltage (12 volts) to the fan motor connector.
  12.  
  13. Confirm the smooth rotation of the motor.
  14.  
  15. If the motor does not turn or moves to slowly, replace it.
  16.  
  17. Connect the connector of the fan motor. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  18.

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance of the resistor. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the resistor. Standard resistance is 0.9-0.10 k omega at 68°F (20°C).
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the connector at the fan motor.
  6.  
  7. Using the fan motor wiring harness, apply battery voltage (12 volts) to the fan motor connector.
  8.  
  9. Confirm the smooth rotation of the motor.
  10.  
  11. If the motor does not turn or moves to slowly, replace it.
  12.  
  13. Connect the connector of the fan motor. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  14.

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance of the resistor between terminals B and B1 and D and d1. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the resistor. Standard resistance is 0.24-0.30 omega at 68°F (20°C).
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the connector at the fan motor.
  6.  
  7. Using the fan motor wiring harness, apply battery voltage (12 volts) to the fan motor connector.
  8.  
  9. Confirm the smooth rotation of the motor.
  10.  
  11. If the motor does not turn or moves to slowly, replace it.
  12.  
  13. Connect the connector of the fan motor. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  14.
