  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Drain the coolant into a suitable container.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the water inlet.
  6.  
  7. Remove the retaining bolts from the thermostat housing.
  8.  
  9. Remove the thermostat housing and the thermostat.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install a new gasket to the thermostat housing and place the thermostat with the jiggle valve upward into the engine block.
  2.  
  3. Install the thermostat housing along with the retaining bolts.
  4.  
  5. Reconnect the radiator outlet hose to the thermostat housing.
  6.  
  7. Refill the cooling system and reconnect the negative battery cable. Start the engine and check for leaks and proper operation of the thermostat. Repair any leaks as necessary.
