ADJUSTMENT



  1. Attempt to start the engine when the clutch pedal is released. The engine should not start.
  2.  
  3. Depress the clutch pedal fully and attempt to start the engine. The engine should start.
  4.  
  5. If the engine does not start, depress the clutch pedal fully. With the clutch pedal depressed, loosen the switch locknut.
  6.  
  7. Use the adjusting nut to turn the switch until the tip of the switch contacts the clutch pedal stop.
  8.  
  9. Tighten the locknut and attempt to start the engine. Re-adjust as necessary.
  10.  
  11. If the switch cannot be adjusted, check the switch continuity with a suitable ohmmeter. There should be continuity between the switch terminals when the switch is on (tip pushed in) and no continuity when the switch is off (tip released). If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Unplug the switch connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the switch adjusting nut.
  6.  
  7. Withdraw the switch from the mounting bracket.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Adjust the switch.
