  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the steering wheel as outlined in .
  4.  
  5. Remove the glove box as follows:
  6.  
    1. Remove the glove box check arm retaining screw and check arm assembly.
    2.  
    3. Remove the compartment door retaining screws and compartment door.
    4.  
    5. Remove the door lock striker.
    6.  
    7. Remove the compartment retaining screws and the compartment. Disconnect the compartment light connector.
    8.  

  7. Remove the 4 screws from the glove box bracket and remove the bracket.
  8.  
  9. To remove the lower finish panel on the passenger's side remove the bolt from the CD amplifier, if so equipped.
  10.  
  11. Remove the passenger's side lower finish panel retaining bolts, nuts and screws. Pull off the lower finish panel along with the under cover.
  12.  
  13. Remove the hood release lever retaining screws and remove the hood release lever.
  14.  
  15. Remove the lower steering column cover retaining screws and remove the cover.
  16.  
  17. To remove the lower finish panel on the driver's side (USA models), pry off the cruise control switch. Unplug the switch connector and remove it. Pry off the speaker panel and remove the retaining bolts hidden behind the speaker panel. Remove the lower finish panel retaining bolts, nuts and screws. Pull off the lower finish panel and unplug any connectors.

  19. To remove the lower finish panel on the driver's side (Canadian models), push out the headlight cleaner switch from the reverse side of the dash panel. Push out the cruise control main switch and defogger switch. Unplug the switch connectors and remove them. Remove the lower finish panel retaining bolts, nuts and screws. Pull off the lower finish panel and disconnect the light control rheostat switch.

  21. Remove the air duct assembly.
  22.  
  23. Remove the left and right front speaker retaining screws, disconnect the wiring and remove the speakers.
  24.  
  25. Pry and pull off the defroster button. Then pry out the heater control panel.
  26.  
  27. Remove the center cluster finish panel retaining screws and remove the finish panel. Unplug the wiring.
  28.  
  29. Remove the radio retaining screws and remove the radio. Disconnect the radio wiring and pull out the antenna cord.
  30.  
  31. Remove the screws from the satellite switches (if so equipped) unplug the connectors and remove the switches.
  32.  
  33. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel retaining screws, pull out the panel, disconnect the harness wiring and remove the cluster finish panel.
  34.  
  35. Remove the combination meter retaining screws, disconnect the connectors and remove the meter assembly.
  36.  
  37. Remove the heater controller retaining screws and controller.
  38.  
  39. Disconnect the wiring and heater vacuum tube connectors.
  40.  
  41. Unplug the light sensor connector, solar sensor for A/C, In-car sensor for A/C and glove box courtesy switch connectors.
  42.  
  43. Disconnect the hose from the aspirator for the A/C.
  44.  
  45. Remove the nut and screws from the instrument panel stay bracket.
  46.  
  47. Remove the nut and screws from the instrument panel No. 1, instrument panel mounting bracket and remove the bracket.
  48.  
  49. Remove the instrument safety pad retaining bolts, nuts and screws.
  50.  

The safety pad has a boss on the reverse side for clamping onto the clip on the body side. Therefore, when removing it, pull upward at an angle.

  1. Disconnect the defroster ducts from the safety pad.
  2.  

To install:

  1. Reconnect the defroster ducts to the safety pad.
  2.  

The safety pad has a boss on the reverse side for clamping onto the clip on the body side. Therefore, when installing it, push downward at an angle.

  1. Install the instrument safety pad retaining bolts, nuts and screws.
  2.  
  3. Install the No. 1 instrument panel mounting bracket and install the retaining nuts and screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the instrument panel stay bracket and the retaining nut and screws.
  6.  
  7. Reconnect the hose to the aspirator for the A/C.
  8.  
  9. Reattach the light sensor, solar sensor for A/C, In-car sensor for A/C and glove box courtesy switch connectors.
  10.  
  11. Reconnect the wiring connectors and heater vacuum tube connectors.
  12.  
  13. Install the heater controller and the retaining screws.
  14.  
  15. Plug-in the combination meter connectors, install the meter and the retaining screws.
  16.  
  17. Reconnect the instrument cluster finish panel wiring, then install the cluster finish panel and retaining screws.
  18.  
  19. Reattach the connectors to the satellite switches (if so equipped) install the switches and retaining screws.
  20.  
  21. Reconnect the radio wiring and the antenna cord. Install the radio and the retaining screws.
  22.  
  23. Reattach the center cluster finish panel connectors, install the finish panel and the retaining screws.
  24.  
  25. Push in the heater control panel. Push back into place the defroster button.
  26.  
  27. Reconnect the speaker harness, install the left and right front speakers and retaining screws.
  28.  
  29. Install the air duct assembly.
  30.  
  31. To install the lower finish panel on the driver's side (Canadian models), reattach all the switch connectors and push back in place the headlight cleaner switch, cruise control main switch and defogger switch. Install the lower finish panel along with the bolts, nuts and screws.
  32.  
  33. To install the lower finish panel on the driver's side (USA models), reconnect all wiring and install the cruise control switch. Install the lower finish panel and install the retaining bolts, nuts and screws. Install the speaker panels.
  34.  
  35. Install the lower steering column cover and the retaining screws.
  36.  
  37. Install the hood release lever and retaining screws.
  38.  
  39. To install the lower finish panel on the passenger's side, install the under cover along with the finish panel and install the retaining bolts, nuts and screws. Install the bolt to the CD amplifier, if so equipped.
  40.  
  41. Install the glove box bracket and the 4 screws to the glove box bracket.
  42.  
  43. Install the glove box as follows:
  44.  
    1. Reconnect the glove box light. Install the glove compartment box and retaining screws.
    2.  
    3. Install the door lock striker.
    4.  
    5. Install the compartment door and retaining screws.
    6.  
    7. Install the glove box check arm and retaining screw.
    8.  

  45. Install the steering wheel as outlined in this guide.
  46.  
  47. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  48.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the steering wheel as outlined in .
  4.  
  5. Remove the right front and left front pillar garnish covers, by prying them out by hand.
  6.  
  7. Remove the steering column cover retaining screws and remove the steering column cover.
  8.  
  9. Using a suitable prytool, pry loose the 4 cluster finish lower panel clips and remove the cluster finish lower panel. Disconnect any related wiring.
  10.  
  11. Remove the No. 1 under cover retaining screws and remove the under cover panel.
  12.  
  13. Remove the engine hood release lever retaining screws and remove the release lever. Disconnect the release cable from the lever, if so equipped.
  14.  
  15. To remove the lower finish panel on the driver's side, pry off the speaker panel and remove the retaining bolts hidden behind speaker panel. Remove the lower finish panel retaining bolts, nuts and screws. Pull off the lower finish panel and unplug any connectors.
  16.  
  17. Remove the No. 2 heater air duct retaining screws and remove the air duct.
  18.  
  19. Remove the remote control mirror switch and disconnect the wiring. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel retaining screws and cluster finish panel. Disconnect all the wiring.
  20.  
  21. Remove the combination meter retaining screws and remove the combination meter. Disconnect the related wiring.
  22.  
  23. Remove the glove box as follows:
  24.  
    1. Remove the glove box check arm retaining screw and check arm assembly.
    2.  
    3. Remove the compartment door retaining screws and compartment door.
    4.  
    5. Remove the door lock striker.
    6.  
    7. Remove the compartment retaining screws and the compartment. Disconnect the compartment light.
    8.  


On the Canadian models, pry loose the speaker panel, to gain access to some of the retaining screws. Also remove the lower No. 2 finish panel.

  1. Remove the No. 3 heater air duct retaining screws and remove the air duct.
  2.  
  3. Remove the center console upper panel by pry loose the 4 retaining clips.
  4.  
  5. Remove the center cluster finish panel retaining screws and remove the center cluster finish panel along with the radio assembly. Disconnect the harness and antenna cable. Remove the 6 screws and the radio from the cluster finish panel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the rear console box hole cover and remove the rear console retaining nuts, bolts and screws. Remove the rear console.
  8.  
  9. Remove the finish lower center panel retaining screws and remove the panel. Unplug the connectors.
  10.  
  11. Remove the heater control retaining screws and remove the heater control assembly.
  12.  
  13. Remove the right and left defroster nozzles.
  14.  
  15. Push the pawls of the speedometer cable and pull it from the instrument panel. Remove the bolt from the No. 3 and the screw from the No. 2 instrument safety pad retainers.
  16.  
  17. Remove the instrument safety pad retaining screws, nuts and bolts. Remove the safety pad from the vehicle.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Install the instrument safety pad and the retaining screws, nuts and bolts.
  2.  
  3. Install the bolt into the No. 3 and the screw into the No. 2 instrument safety pad retainers. Push the pawls of the speedometer cable and push it into the instrument panel.
  4.  
  5. Install the right and left defroster nozzles.
  6.  
  7. Install the heater control assembly and the retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Reconnect the wiring and install the finish lower center panel along with the retaining screws.
  10.  
  11. Install the rear console box along with the retaining nuts, bolts and screws. Install the rear console box hole cover.
  12.  
  13. Install the 6 screws and the radio into the cluster finish panel. Reconnect the radio wiring and the antenna cable. Install the center cluster finish panel along with the retaining screws.
  14.  
  15. Snap the center console upper panel and retaining clips back into place.
  16.  
  17. Install the No. 3 heater air duct and retaining screws.
  18.  
  19. Install the glove box as follows:
  20.  
    1. Reconnect the glove box light harness. Install the glove compartment box and retaining screws.
    2.  
    3. Install the door lock striker.
    4.  
    5. Install the compartment door and retaining screws.
    6.  
    7. Install the glove box check arm and retaining screw.
    8.  


On the Canadian models, install the lower No. 2 finish panel and the speaker panel.

  1. Attach the wiring and install the combination meter and retaining screws.
  2.  
  3. Reattach all the connectors. Install the instrument cluster finish panel and retaining. Install the remote control mirror switch.
  4.  
  5. Install the No. 2 heater air duct and retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. To install the lower finish panel on the driver's side, reconnect all wiring. Install the lower finish panel and install the retaining bolts, nuts and screws. Install the speaker panels.
  8.  
  9. Reconnect the engine hood release cable to the release lever, if so equipped. Install the engine hood release lever and retaining screws.
  10.  
  11. Install the No. 1 under cover panel and retaining screws.
  12.  
  13. Snap the 4 cluster finish lower panel clips and panel back into place.
  14.  
  15. Install the steering column cover and retaining screws.
  16.  
  17. Install the right front and left front pillar garnish covers, by snapping them into place.
  18.  
  19. Install the steering wheel as outlined in this guide.
  20.  
  21. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  22.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the steering wheel as outlined in .
  4.  
  5. Remove the lower finish panel retaining screws and remove the finish panel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the steering column cover retaining screws and remove the cover.
  8.  
  9. Remove the left-hand front speaker retaining screws. Remove the speaker panel along with the 2 clips. Unplug the speaker connectors.
  10.  
  11. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel retaining screws then remove the panel.
  12.  
  13. Remove the combination meter retaining screws. Disconnect the speedometer cable and other related wiring. Remove the combination meter.
  14.  
  15. Remove the instrument cluster center panel as follows:
  16.  
    1. Remove the ashtray assembly.
    2.  
    3. Remove the cluster panel retaining screws.
    4.  
    5. Remove the center panel with the 2 clips.
    6.  
    7. Unplug the harness attached to the panel and the connector to the cigarette lighter.
    8.  
    9. Remove the ashtray retainer screws and remove the retainer.
    10.  

  17. Remove the radio retaining screws, pull the radio out and disconnect the harness along with the antenna cable. Remove the radio.
  18.  
  19. Remove the heater control unit retaining screws and remove the control unit.
  20.  
  21. Remove the glove compartment under tray retaining screws and remove the under tray.
  22.  
  23. Remove the glove compartment door retaining screws, then remove the door.
  24.  
  25. Remove the glove compartment latch striker retaining screws and remove the striker.
  26.  
  27. Remove the instrument panel safety pad retaining screw bolts and nuts. Pull the safety pad out and unplug all the connectors holding it to the vehicle. Remove any remaining instrument panel retaining bolts and or screws and remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.
  28.  

To install:

  1. Position the instrument panel in the vehicle. Connect all the necessary wiring. Install the instrument panel and safety pad retaining bolts, nuts and screws.
  2.  
  3. Install the glove compartment latch striker and tighten the retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the glove compartment door and tighten the retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Install the glove compartment under tray and tighten the retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Install the heater control unit and tighten the retaining screws.
  10.  
  11. Install the radio wiring and antenna cord. Install the radio and tighten the retaining screws.
  12.  
  13. Install the instrument cluster center panel as follows:
  14.  
    1. Install the ashtray retainer and retaining screws.
    2.  
    3. Reconnect the electrical harness attached to the panel and to the cigarette lighter.
    4.  
    5. Install the center panel with the 2 clips.
    6.  
    7. Install the cluster panel retaining screws.
    8.  
    9. Install the ashtray assembly.
    10.  

  15. Reconnect the speedometer cable and other electrical wiring. Install the combination meter and retaining screws.
  16.  
  17. Install the instrument cluster finish panel and the retaining screws.
  18.  
  19. Reconnect the speaker wiring. Install the left-hand front speaker panel and tighten the retaining screws.
  20.  
  21. Install the steering column cover and tighten the retaining screws.
  22.  
  23. Install the lower finish panel and tighten the retaining screws.
  24.  
  25. Install the steering wheel as outlined in this .
  26.  
  27. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
