Position the front wheel in the straight-ahead position. Place the mode select switch in the Normal position.
Using a jumper wire, short the service connector terminals Tem and E2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and check that the indicator lights flash after two seconds. If not, there is a problem with either the mode select switch, service connector circuit or TEMS computer.
Turn the steering wheel
turn to the right from the straight-ahead position and check that the No. 2 indicator light (right side) flash and the No. 1 light (left side) goes out.
Return the steering wheel to the straight-away position and then
turn to the left, and check that the No. 1 TEMS indicator light (left side) flash and the No. 2 light (right side) goes out.
If the operation is not as specified in the last two steps, inspect for the cause.
