Diagnosis & Testing
  1. Inspect the rear door power window switch continuity as indicated in the illustration. If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
  2.  
  3. Inspect the power window switch circuit as indicated in the illustration. If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
  4.  
  5. Inspect power main relay continuity as indicated in the illustration. If continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.
  6.  
  7. Inspect power window motor operation as follows:
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check that the motor turns clockwise.
    2.  
    3. Reverse the polarity and check that the motor turns counterclockwise.
    4.  
    5. If operation is not as specified, replace the power window motor.

Adjustment

NOTE
It is necessary to reset the power window motor (in initial position for the limit switch) when separating the window regulator from the power window motor or operating the window regulator with the door glass not installed.

  1. Remove the power window motor.
    NOTE
    Place matchmarks on the power window motor and window regulator gear.

  2.  
  3. Connect the power window motor and power window switch to the wire harness of the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  6.  
  7. Press the power window UP switch until the motor completes 6 to 10 rotations.
  8.  
  9. Assemble the power window motor and regulator.
    NOTE
    Install the motor when the regulator arm is below the middle point.

  10.  
  11. Align the matchmarks on the power window motor and window regulator gear and install the power window motor.
  12.  
  13. Assemble the power window regulator and door glass.
    NOTE
    Never rotate the motor downward until the completion of the window glass installation.

  14.  
  15. Connect the power window switch to the wire harness and turn the ignition switch ON.
  16.  
  17. Repeat UP and DOWN operation several times manually.
  18.  
  19. Check that AUTO UP and AUTO DOWN automatic operation is normal.
    NOTE
    The jam protection function does not operate immediately after performing reset. .

  20.  
  21. If the jam protection function is triggered and the window lowers after the window has been fully closed by AUTO UP operation, reset the power window motor again.
  22.  
  23. Check the power window function.
