Removal & Installation

  1. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel as follows:
    1. Using a suitable tool, disengage the 4 clips and 3 Claws.
    2.  
    3. Unplug the connector, then remove the instrument cluster finish panel.

  3. Remove the combination switch.
  4.  
  5. Remove air conditioning control as follows:
    1. Using a screwdriver, open the claw of the cable clamp and disconnect the defroster damper control cable.
      NOTE
      Do not to bend the cable wire

    2.  
    3. Release the 2 fitting claws and pull out the air conditioning control assembly.
    4.  
    5. Using a screwdriver, open the claw of the cable clamp and disconnect the airmix damper control cable.
      NOTE
      Be careful not to bend the cable wire.

    6.  
    7. Disconnect the connector and remove the air conditioning control assembly.
      NOTE
      Note the routing of the cable to make installation easier.

  7. Disconnect the control cable from the HVAC control unit.
  8.  
  9. Remove the control cable from the vehicle.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Position the temperature control cable in the vehicle. Route the cable as previously noted.
  2.  
  3. Connect the control cable to the HVAC module assembly.
  4.  
  5. Attach the inner cable end of the air mix damper control cable to the heater control lever.
  6.  
  7. Attach the outer cable of the airmix damper control cable to the cable clamp.
  8.  
  9. Operate the heater control knob and check that it properly stops at both ends of the Max. Cool and Max. Hot positions and does not recoil.
    NOTE
    Check that the outer cable should not be moved from the air conditioning control assembly when the cable is pulled.

  10.  
  11. Attach the connector and the claws of air conditioning control assembly in the instrument panel lower hole.
  12.  
  13. Attach the inner cable end of the defroster damper control cable to the heater control lever.
  14.  
  15. Attach the outer cable of the defroster damper control cable to the cable clamp.
  16.  
  17. Install the remaining components in the reverse order of removal.
