Removal & Installation



Removal & Installation
  1. Remove the rear wheel
  2.  
  3. Separate the rear stabilizer link assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove rear axle shaft nut.
  6.  
  7. Remove rear brake drum assembly.
  8.  
  9. Separate the rear speed sensor.
  10.  
  11. Remove the parking brake shoe strut set.
  12.  
  13. Remove the brake shoe assembly.
  14.  
  15. Separate the parking brake cable assembly No: 3.
  16.  
  17. Separate the rear brake tube no.4.
  18.  
  19. Separate rear suspension arm assembly no.1.
  20.  
  21. Separate the upper control arm assembly.
  22.  
  23. Using a hammer and a hub nut wrench, remove the rear drive shaft assembly on the left side.
    NOTE
    Be careful not to damage the dust cover, boot and oil seal.

  25. Using a brass bar and a hammer, remove the rear drive shaft assembly on the right side.
  26.  

To install:

  1. Align the shaft splines and install the rear drive shaft assembly using a brass bar and hammer.
    NOTE
    Install the snap ring with opening side facing downward.

  3. Temporarily tighten the upper control arm assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear axle assembly.
  6.  
  7. Temporarily tighten rear suspension arm assembly no.1.
  8.  
  9. Install parking brake cable and rear brake assembly.
  10.  
  11. Install the rear speed sensor.
  12.  
  13. Install the rear axle shaft nut. Tighten the rear axle shaft nut to 159 ft. lbs. (216 Nm).
  14.  
  15. Install the rear stabilizer link assembly.
  16.  
  17. Bleed the brake line.
  18.  
  19. Install the rear wheel
  20.  
  21. Fully tighten the upper control arm assembly.
  22.  
  23. Fully tighten the rear suspension arm assembly no.1.
  24.  
  25. Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment.
