See Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4CLUTCH PEDAL HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

The pedal height measurement is gauged from the angle section of the floorboard to the center of the clutch pedal pad. Refer to the accompanying specification chart to determine the recommended pedal height.

If necessary, adjust the pedal height by loosening the locknut and turning the pedal stop bolt which is located above the pedal toward the driver's seat. Tighten the locknut after the adjustment.

CLUTCH PEDAL PUSHROD PLAY ADJUSTMENT

The pedal pushrod play is the distance between the clutch master cylinder piston and the pedal pushrod located above the pedal towards the firewall. Since it is nearly impossible to measure this distance at the source, it must be measured at the pedal pad, preferably with a dial indicator gauge. Refer to the accompanying specification chart to determine the recommended play.

If necessary, adjust the pedal play by loosening the pedal pushrod locknut and turning the pushrod. Tighten the locknut after the adjustment.

CLUTCH FORK TIP PLAY ADJUSTMENT

1970-80

The fork tip play is the total amount of travel evident at the outer end of the clutch release fork where the fork comes in contact with the release cylinder pushrod. Refer to the accompanying specification chart to determine the recommended fork tip play.

The fork tip play is adjusted by loosening the release cylinder pushrod locknut and effectively increasing or decreasing the pushrod length as required.

Some models do not have adjustable release cylinder pushrods. These models are identified by having no adjustment nuts on the pushrod.

CLUTCH PEDAL FREE-PLAY ADJUSTMENT

The free-play measurement is the total travel of the clutch pedal from the fully released position to where resistance is felt as the pedal is pushed downward. Refer to the accompanying specification chart to determine the recommended pedal free-play.

If the clutch pedal free-play is incorrect, perform the previous clutch adjustments then bleed the system according to the procedure which follows. If a pedal free-play dimension is not listed for your model, perform the previous clutch adjustments and disregard the pedal free-play measurement.
