The cruise control, which is a speed control system, maintains a desired speed of the vehicle under normal driving conditions. The cruise control ECM controls all cruise control functions. The use of the speed control is not recommended when driving conditions do not permit maintaining a constant speed, such as in heavy traffic or on roads that are winding, icy, snow covered or slippery.
CONTROL CABLE FREE-PLAY
See Figure 1
Measure the cable stroke to where the throttle valve begins to open. This distance should be within 0.39 in. (10mm) with a slight amount of free-play. If free-play is not as specified, adjust control cable free-play.
