REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Pick-Up
1970-78
  1. Loosen the steering column clamp bolts at the base of the instrument panel. This will allow the steering column to drop slightly.
  2.  
  3. Remove the three retaining screws on the instrument group and pull out gently on the hood of the cluster.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the speedometer cable and the wiring connector and withdraw the cluster.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  8.  

1980 AND LATER

See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.
  2.  
  3. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.
  4.  
  5. Remove the five screws holding the instrument trim panel and remove the panel.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the back of the speedometer.
  8.  
  9. Remove the four screws holding the instrument panel in place and pull the panel forward. Unplug the two connectors from the back of the panel and remove the panel.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

1971-83
  1. Disconnect the speedometer cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the instrument panel attaching screws.
  4.  
  5. Loosen the steering column clamp by removing the attaching bolts.
  6.  
  7. Pull out the instrument panel and the speedometer, disconnect the wiring connectors, and remove the panel.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
