REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the front wheel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the shock absorber.
  4.  
  5. Compress the spring using a spring compressor, see the manufacturer's instructions for the procedure.

  1. Disconnect the stabilizer bar as follows:
    1. Remove the nut and stabilizer bar link from the lower control arm.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 stabilizer bar bracket set bolts.
    4.

  3. Remove the lower control arm and sway bar as follows:
    1. Support the upper control arm and steering knuckle securely.
    2.  
    3. Support the upper control arm and steering knuckle assembly.
    4.  
    5. Remove the cotter pin and nut.
    6.  
    7. Using a ball joint extractor, disconnect the lower ball joint from the lower control arm.
    8.  
    9. Loosen the lower control arm set bolt and remove the nut.
    10.  
    11. Loosen the strut bar front set bolt, then remove the nut.
    12.  
    13. Pull out the bolts and remove the lower control arm along with the strut bar.
    14.

  5. Remove the coil spring compressor tool and coil.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Place each end of the coil spring and lower control arm seat in contact when applying the coil spring expander.
  2.  
  3. Install the lower control arm and strut bar as follows:
    1. Attach the strut bar front set bolt, tighten to 221 ft. lbs. (300 Nm) make sure the suspension is stabilized prior to tightening the bolt.
    2.  
    3. Install the lower control arm set bolt and nut, tighten to 148 ft. lbs. (200 Nm). Make sure the suspension is stabilized prior to tightening the bolt.
    4.  
    5. Install the lower ball joint with a ball joint installer tool. Install the nut and cotter pin. Tighten the nut to 80 ft. lbs. (110 Nm).

  5. Attach the stabilizer bar bracket set bolts, tighten to 22 ft. lbs. (29 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install the stabilizer link to the lower control arm, tighten to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Remove the spring compressing tool.
  10.  
  11. Install the shock absorber.
  12.  
  13. Install the wheel, lower the truck and tighten the lug nuts.
  14.
