REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Jack up and support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the stabilizer bar links as follows:
    1. Remove the nuts and disconnect the stabilizer bar links from the stabilizer bar.
    2.  
    3. Hold the link with a wrench, then remove the nut, retainers, cushions and link.
    4.

  5. Remove the bolts and stabilizer bar with cushions and brackets.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Install the bushings to the stabilizer bar so the cutout of the bushing faces the under side of the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Install the bar to the rear axle housing, with bushings and brackets. Tighten the bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (13 Nm) on the 4Runner, or 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm) on the Land Cruiser.
  4.  
  5. Attach the retainers and cushions to the bar links. Hold the stabilizer bar link with a wrench, then install a new nut. Tighten the nut to 14-19 ft. lbs. (19-25 Nm) on the 4Runner, or 76 ft. lbs. (103 Nm) on the Land Cruiser.
  6.  
  7. Install the nuts to the stabilizer bar, tighten to 51 ft. lbs. (69 Nm) on the 4Runner, or 19 ft. lbs. (25 Nm) on the Land Cruiser.
  8.  
  9. Install the front wheels.
  10.  
  11. Have the alignment checked at a reputable repair facility.
