  1. Remove the weatherstripping from the glass.
  2.

To install:
  1. Clean the weatherstripping, glass and glass opening with solvent to remove all old sealer.
  2.
  3. Apply liquid butyl sealer in the glass channel of the weatherstripping and install the weatherstripping on the glass.
  4.
  5. Install the moldings.
  6.
  7. Apply a bead of sealer to the opening flange and in the inner flange crevice of the weatherstripping lip.
  8.
  9. Place a length of strong cord, such as butcher's twine, in the flange crevice of the weatherstripping. The cord should go all the way around the weatherstripping with the ends, about 18 in. (46cm) long each, hanging down together at the bottom center of the window.
  10.
  11. Apply soapy water to the weatherstripping lip.
  12.
  13. Have your assistant position the window assembly in the channel from the outside, applying firm inward pressure.
  14.
  15. From inside, guide the lip of the weatherstripping into place using the cord, working each end alternately, until the window is locked in place.
  16.
  17. Remove the cord, clean the glass and weatherstripping of excess sealer and leak test the window.

  1. Remove the vent louver and quarter belt moulding. Remove the nut from the louver, then insert a tool between the retainers and the body and pry it loose.
  2.
  3. Remove the vent louver. Pull out the clips from the edge of the panel, then remove the moulding.
  4.
  5. Pry the lip of the weatherstrip outwards from the interior part of the body. Pull the glass outwards, then remove it with the weatherstrip.
  6.
  7. If using a new weatherstrip, from the outside of the vehicle, cut off the weatherstrip lip with a blade.
  8.
  9. Push the glass outwards with a helper behind the glass and remove.
  10.

To install:
  1. Clean the weatherstripping, glass and glass opening with solvent to remove all old sealer.
  2.
  3. Attach the weatherstrip to the glass.
  4.

If the old weatherstripping has hardened, it may develop leaks. Use a new one if possible.

  1. Insert a cord into the groove of the weatherstrip all the way around with the ends overlapping.
  2.
  3. Apply soapy water to the contact surface of the weatherstrip lip and to the body flange. Begin the installation in the middle of the lower part of the quarter window glass.
  4.
  5. Hold the glass into position on the body.
  6.
  7. From the inside, pull on one cord at an angle so it pulls the lip over the flange. From the outside of the vehicle, press the glass along the weatherstrip until the glass is installed.
  8.
  9. To make the glass fit snugly, tap from the outside with your open hand. But not too hard.
  10.
  11. Leak test the window. Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.
  12.
