REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figures 1, 2 and 3

  1. Remove the brake drums and shoes.
  2.  
  3. Working from behind the backing plate, disconnect the hydraulic line from the wheel cylinder. Plug the line to prevent fluid loss.
  4.  

To install:
  1. Position the cylinder and install the bolts; tighten them to 7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Connect the brake line, tightening it to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the shoes and drums.
  6.  
  7. Bleed the brake system.
  8.  
  9. Unfasten the bolts retaining the wheel cylinder and withdraw the cylinder.
  10.
