  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the rear of the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear wheels.
  6.  
  7. Remove the left and right floor panel side plates, if equipped.
  8.  
  9. Remove the left rear height control sensor sub-assembly and rear sensor connecting bracket, if equipped.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect brake lines from the flexible hose and remove clip. Use a container to catch the brake fluid as it drains out.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the ABS speed sensor wire harness and parking brake cable clamps from the axle beam.
  14.  
  15. Remove rear wheel hub/bearing assemblies.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect the rear struts from the rear axle beam.
  18.  
  19. Remove the 2 bolts, nuts and rear axle beam with the 2 brackets from the vehicle.
  20.  

To install:

  1. Install the rear axle beam into the vehicle along with the 2 nuts and bolts. After adjusting the vehicle height by pushing down or lifting up the body, torque the rear axle beam nuts to 66 ft. lbs. (90 Nm).

  3. Connect the rear struts to the rear axle beam.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear wheel hub/bearing assemblies.
  6.  
  7. Connect the ABS speed sensor wire harness and parking brake cable clamps to the rear axle beam.
  8.  
  9. Connect the brake lines to the flexible hose and install clip. Tighten the line to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Install the left rear height control sensor sub-assembly and rear sensor connecting bracket, if equipped.
  12.  
  13. Install the left and right floor panel side plates, if equipped.
  14.  
  15. Bleed the brake system.
  16.  
  17. Install the rear wheels and lower the vehicle.
  18.  
  19. Check the ABS sensor signal.
  20.
