  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wheel(s).
  4.  
  5. If the caliper is being replaced, remove the union bolt and 2 washers and remove the flexible brake hose from the caliper. Use a suitable container to catch the brake fluid as it drains out. Discard the washers.
  6.  
  7. Hold the sliding pin and loosen the 2 caliper mounting bolts. Remove the bolts and remove the caliper from the torque plate.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake pads and brake hardware.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake pads and brake hardware.
  2.  
  3. Install the caliper to the torque plate with the 2 mounting bolts. Torque the bolts to 20 ft. lbs. (26 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Reconnect the flexible brake hose to the caliper with 2 new washers and the union bolt. Torque the union bolt to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Refill the master cylinder with brake fluid and bleed the brake system.
  8.  
  9. Check for proper operation and make sure there are no leaks.

  5. Remove the union bolt and 2 gaskets and remove the flexible brake hose from the caliper. Use a suitable container to catch the brake fluid as it drains out.
  6.  
  7. Hold the sliding pin and loosen the 2 caliper mounting bolts. Remove the bolts and remove the caliper from the torque plate.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake pads and brake hardware.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake pads and brake hardware.
  2.  
  3. Install the caliper to the torque plate with the 2 mounting bolts. Torque the bolts to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Reconnect the flexible brake hose to the caliper with the 2 gaskets and the union bolt. Torque the union bolt to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Refill the master cylinder with brake fluid and bleed the brake system.
  8.  
  9. Check for proper operation and make sure there are no leaks.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wheel(s).
