Diagnosis & Testing
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
    NOTE
    When prying on plastic parts, use a blunt prytool such as a screwdriver with a taped end to prevent marring of the plastic.

  3. Carefully remove the switch, then unplug the connector.
  4.  
  5. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the following terminals of the driver-s window switch:
    1. 4, 7 then 1, 3 and 5 while in the up position
    2.  
    3. 7, 9 then 1, 3 and 4 while in the down position
    4.  
    5. 1, 3 and 4 then 1, 3 and 9 while in the off position
    6.  

  6.  
  7. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the following terminals of the passenger-s window switch:
    1. 6, 13 then 1, 3 and 15 while in the up position
    2.  
    3. 6, 15 then 1, 3 and 13 while in the down position
    4.  
    5. 1, 3 and 13 then 1, 3 and 15 while in the off position
    6.

  9. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the following terminals of the rear left passenger-s window switch:
    1. 6, 12 then 1, 3 and 10 while in the up position
    2.  
    3. 6, 10 then 1, 3 and 12 while in the down position
    4.  
    5. 1, 3 and 12 then 1, 3 and 10 while in the off position
    6.

  11. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the following terminals of the rear right passenger-s window switch:
    1. 6, 18 then 1, 3 and 16 while in the up position
    2.  
    3. 6, 16 then 1, 3 and 18 while in the down position
    4.  
    5. 1, 3 and 18 then 1, 3 and 16 while in the off position
    6.

  13. Replace the switch if any of the tests fail.
  14.  
  15. To test the motor, it will be necessary to remove the door panel.
  16.  
  17. Unplug the electrical connector from the window motor. Apply 12 volts directly to the terminals of the motor connector; the motor should operate. Reverse the leads and the motor should operate in the opposite direction.
  18.  
  19. If all tests have passed and the component still does not operate, the fault is in the wiring.

Removal & Installation
Motor & Regulator
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the screw from the inside door handle, then carefully pry out the bezel.
    NOTE
    When prying on plastic parts, use a blunt prytool such as a screwdriver with a taped end to prevent marring of the plastic.

  5. Carefully pry the triangular trim from the side mirror.
  6.  
  7. Remove the power window switch. Carefully pry from the front of the switch first to disengage the clip.
  8.  
  9. Pry out the door assist grip cover. Remove the screws securing the door panel.
  10.  
  11. Carefully pry the door trim panel from the door. Once all the clips are disengaged, lift the door panel up and out.
  12.  
  13. Remove the plastic cover from the inside of the door. Be careful not to damage it as it will be reused.
  14.  
  15. Lower the door glass until the mounting bolts are accessable throught the service hole.
  16.  
  17. Remove the 2 bolts, then remove the glass by pulling it upward and out.
  18.  
  19. Remove the bolts securing the window regulator to the door. Unplug the connector, then remove the regulator and motor assembly through the service hole.

  21. Matchmark the position of the motor bracket and the regulator gear. Remove the screws securing the motor, then separate it from the regulator.

Switch

  3. Remove the power window/lock switch. Carefully pry from the front of the switch first to disengage the clip.
  4.  
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal.
