Refer to the applicable precautions for this system before performing the following operation. Failure to follow the warnings and cautions could result in possible personal injury or death.
Air conditioning refrigerant or lubricant vapor can irritate your eyes, nose, or throat. Be careful when connecting service equipment. Do not breathe refrigerant or vapor.
Use only service equipment that is U.L.-listed and is certified to meet the requirements of SAE J2210 to remove HFC-134a (R-134a) from the air conditioning system.
If accidental system discharge occurs, ventilate work area before resuming service.

Never run the engine when charging the system through the high pressure side. Do not open the low pressure valve when the system is being charged.
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section.
Open the high pressure valve all the way.
Charge the system and close the high pressure valve.
Start the vehicle, run the engine at 1500 rpm and turn the blower motor to high.
Set the temperature control to MAX and the air inlet to RECIRC.
Open the vehicle doors.
Open the low pressure hand valve.
Do not open the high pressure valve.
Charge the system until all bubbles disappear from the sight valve.
Disconnect the gauge set.
