  5. Remove the service valve caps on the refrigerant lines.
  6.
  7. Close both valves on the manifold gauge set and connect the quick disconnect adapter to the service valves.
  8.
  9. Connect the vacuum pump adapter to the vacuum pump.
  10.
  11. Connect the center hose of the gauge set to the vacuum pump adapter.
  12.
  13. Open the low and high valves on the gauge set and run the vacuum pump.
  14.
  15. After 10 minutes, check the low pressure gauge indicates 30 in. Hg or more.
  16.
  17. If the reading is not 30 in. Hg, close both gauge valves and stop the vacuum pump and check the A/C system for leaks. Repair the leaks and run the vacuum pump again.
  18.
  19. If the reading is 30 in. Hg, turn off the vacuum pump and leave the system alone for at least minutes and check the low pressure is still the same.
  20.
  21. Measure the amount of refrigerant oil removed from the A/C system after the recovery process is completed. Be sure to put the same amount of new refrigerant oil back into the A/C system before charging.
