The combination turn signal and hazard flasher unit is usually located under the dash on the left side near the fuse box. The flasher unit is not the classic round can found on many domestic cars; instead, it is a small box-shaped unit easily mistaken for another relay. Depending on the year and model of your vehicle, the flasher may be plugged directly into the fuse and relay panel or it may be plugged into its own connector and mounted near the fuse panel. The flasher unit emits the familiar ticking sound when the signals are in use and may be identified by touching the case and feeling for the click as the system functions.
The flasher unit simply unplugs from its connector and a replacement may be installed. Very rapid flashing on one side only or no flashing on one side generally indicates a failed bulb rather than a failed flasher.
