Relieving Fuel System Pressure

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the fuel pump connector near the fuel tank.
  4.  
  5. Start the engine and allow it to run until it stalls. Crank the engine for a few seconds to relieve additional fuel pressure.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  8.  
  9. When repairs are complete, connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  3. Disconnect the fuel pump connector near the fuel tank.
  4.  
  5. Start the engine and allow it to run until it stalls. Crank the engine for a few seconds to relieve additional fuel pressure.

  7. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  8.  
  9. When repairs are complete, connect the negative battery cable.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the engine relay block cover.
  6.  
  7. Remove the circuit opening relay.

  9. Connect the negative battery.
  10.  
  11. Start the engine.
  12.  
  13. Turn the ignition switch -ON- after the engine stops.
    NOTE
    Code DTC P0171 (system lean) may be present.

  15. Crank the engine again. Check that the engine stops.
  16.  
  17. Remove the fuel tank cap and completely discharge the pressure in the fuel tank. Install the circuit opening relay.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
