Slave (Actuator) Cylinder

Removal & Installation



  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands.
  4.  
  5. Drain the hydraulic system.
  6.  
  7. Remove the clutch fluid hose bolt and the washer from the clutch fluid hose.
  8.  
  9. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder bolts from the clutch actuator cylinder.
  10.  
  11. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder from the transmission.

To install:

  1. Before installing the clutch actuator cylinder to the transmission apply a small amount of grease to the tip of the clutch actuator cylinder. Use lubricant GM P/N 1051344 (Canadian P/N 993037), or equivalent.
  2.  
  3. Install the clutch actuator cylinder to the transmission.
  4.  
  5. Install the clutch actuator cylinder bolts and tighten to 11.5 ft. lbs. (16 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install the clutch actuator cylinder fluid line to the clutch actuator cylinder.
  8.  
  9. Install the clutch actuator cylinder hose bolt and tighten to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Bleed the hydraulic clutch system.
  12.  
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16.
