Mode Control Cable




NOTE
Note the routing position of the cable in order to ensure easy installation.

  1. Remove the mode control cable from the clip at the heater case. Unhook the cable from the mode door pin.
  2.  
  3. Remove the heater control assembly from the Instrument Panel (IP) in order to gain access to the cable. Do not remove the heater control assembly from the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Gently pry the mode control cable sheath from the heater control unit. Unhook the cable from the lever arm.
  6.  
  7. Remove the mode control cable from the instrument panel (IP).

To install:

  1. Route the mode cable into the instrument panel as previously noted.
  2.  
  3. Hook the end of the cable into the hole in the lever arm.
  4.  
  5. Slide the sheath back on the cable.
  6.  
  7. Line up the sheath with the sheath retainer.
  8.  
  9. Slide the sheath into its retainer until it snaps into place.
  10.  
  11. Install the heater control assembly.
  12.  
  13. Install the mode control cable onto the pin of the mode door and install the cable to the clip at the heater case.
  14.  
  15. Adjust the cable as necessary.

Temperature Door Cable




NOTE
Note the routing position of the cable in order to make installation easier.

  1. Remove the temperature control cable from the clip at the heater case. Unhook the cable from the temperature door pin.
  2.  
  3. Remove the heater control assembly from the instrument panel (IP) in order to gain access to the cable. Do not remove the heater control assembly from the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Gently pry the temperature control cable sheath from the heater control unit. Unhook the cable from the lever arm.
  6.  
  7. Remove the temperature control cable from the instrument panel.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Route the temperature cable into the instrument panel as previously noted.
  2.  
  3. Hook the end of the cable into the hole in the lever arm.
  4.  
  5. Slide the sheath back on the cable.
  6.  
  7. Line up the sheath with the sheath retainer.
  8.  
  9. Slide the sheath into its retainer until it snaps into place.
  10.  
  11. Install the heater control unit.
  12.  
  13. Install the temperature control cable onto the pin of the temperature door and install the cable to the clip at the heater case.
  14.  
  15. Adjust the cable as necessary.

Vent Control Cable




NOTE
Note the routing position of the cable in order to ensure easy installation.

  1. Open the Instrument Panel (IP) glove box compartment.
  2.  
  3. Push in the left and right side of the IP glove box compartment and lower the IP compartment.
  4.  
  5. Remove the fresh/recirc control cable from the clip at the blower case. Unhook the cable from the fresh/recirc door pin.
  6.  
  7. Remove the heater control assembly from the instrument panel (IP) in order to gain access to the cable. Do not remove the heater control assembly from the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Gently pry the fresh/recirc control cable sheath from the heater control unit. Unhook the cable from the lever arm.
  10.  
  11. Remove the fresh/recirc control cable from the instrument panel.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Route the fresh/recirc cable into the instrument panel as previously noted.
  2.  
  3. Hook the end of the cable into the hole in the lever arm.
  4.  
  5. Slide the sheath back on the cable.
  6.  
  7. Line up the sheath with the sheath retainer.
  8.  
  9. Slide the sheath into its retainer until it snaps into place.
  10.  
  11. Install the heater control assembly.
  12.  
  13. Install the fresh/recirc control cable (1) onto the pin of the fresh/recirc door and install the cable to the clip at the heater case.
  14.  
  15. Adjust the cable as necessary.
  16.  
  17. Close the IP glove box compartment.
  18.
