The Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) can be cleared using one of two methods. A suitable On Board Diagnostic version II (OBD-II) Data Scan Tool (DST) can be used to clear the DTCs or the Back-Up Radio fuse can be removed to clear the codes.

The advantage of using a DST is that all of the stored fault codes can be read before clearing them. This may be handy for future diagnostic purposes.

When clearing the stored DTCs by removing the fuse, all of the codes are cleared at one time. Once the codes are cleared, the stored information is lost.
