  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. After servicing the rear brake assembly, loosen the parking brake adjusting nut, start the engine, and depress the brake pedal several times in order to set the self-adjusting brake system before adjusting the parking brake.

  5. Block the front wheels, then raise the rear of the vehicle and make sure it is securely supported.
  6.  
  7. Set the parking brake 1 click toward engagement.
  8.  
  9. Remove the floor console.
  10.  
  11. Tighten the adjusting nut until the parking brakes drag slightly when the rear wheels are turned.
  12.  
  13. Release the parking brake lever completely.
  14.  
  15. Check if the parking brakes drag when the rear wheels are turned. Readjust if necessary until there is no drag from the parking brakes.
  16.  
  17. Check the proper operation of the parking brakes by fully applying the parking brakes.
  18.  
  19. Reinstall the floor console.
  20.
