Removal & Installation



Wiper Motor

Specific to:

Hyundai Tucson 2006-2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  4.  
  5. Remove the nut and detach the wiper cap.
  6.  
  7. Remove the rear wiper arm.
  8.  
  9. Remove the rear wiper cap and pad after removing a HEX nut.
  10.  
  11. Open the tailgate glass, then remove the tailgate trim.
  12.  
  13. Remove the rear wiper motor cover (A).
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the motor connector and remove the rear wiper motor (B) after removing the 3 nuts.

To install:

  1. Install the rear wiper motor assembly. Tightening torque: 10-12 ft. lbs. (14-17 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the tailgate trim.
  4.  
  5. Install the HEX nut and the rear wiper cap and pad. Tightening torque for nut: 86-113 inch lbs. (10-13 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install the rear wiper arm and rear wiper cap. Tightening torque: 10-12 ft. lbs. (14-17 Nm).

Wiper Washer

Specific to:

Hyundai Tucson 2006-2008

The rear wiper washer utilizes the front wiper washer reservoir and a special 2-way pump. To service the motor/pump or wiper washer reservoir, refer to Front Wiper Washer, removal & installation.


WARNING
When servicing the washer pump, be careful not to damage the washer pump seal. Do not operate the washer pump before filling the washer reservoir; to do so could result in premature pump failure.
