Diagnosis & Testing
  1. Check the actuator as follows:
    1. Inspect the connectors for broken or bent pins and make sure they are firmly attached.
    2.
    3. Inspect the wiring for any obvious signs of damage
    4.
    5. Disconnect the inoperative door lock actuator.
    6.
    7. Connect a test lamp between the door lock actuator lock circuit at the door lock actuator connector and a good ground.
    8.
    9. Press the door lock switch to the lock position. If the test light does no illuminate there is a an open in the actuator circuit.
    10.
    11. Connect the test lamp between the door lock actuator unlock circuit at the door lock actuator connector and a good ground.
    12.
    13. Press a door lock switch to the unlock position. If the test lamp does not illuminate, there is an open in the door lock actuator unlock circuit.
    14.
    15. If the connections and wiring are working normally, the actuator should be replaced,
    16.

  2.
  3. Check the switch as follows:
    1. Inspect the connectors for broken or bent pins and make sure they are firmly attached.
    2.
    3. Inspect the wiring for any obvious signs of damage
    4.
    5. Disconnect the inoperative door lock switch.
    6.
    7. Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit at the switch connector and a good ground. If the lamp did not illuminate. Repair the open in the battery positive voltage circuit
    8.
    9. Momentarily connect a fused jumper between the battery positive voltage circuit and the door lock relay control circuit at the switch connector. The door should lock. There is an open in the door lock and/or unlock circuit(s).
    10.
    11. Momentarily connect a fused jumper between the battery positive voltage circuit and the door unlock relay control circuit at the switch connector. The door should unlock. If not there is an open in the battery positive voltage circuit.
    12.
    13. If the connections and wiring are working normally and the actuator operates when voltage is applied as described, replace the switch,
    14.
