Power Windows
Diagnosis & Testing
  1. Inspect the connectors for broken or bent pins and make sure they are firmly attached.
  2.  
  3. Inspect the wiring for any obvious signs of damage
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the power window master switch.
  6.  
  7. Connect a test lamp between the power windows fuse voltage supply circuit at the master switch connector and a good ground.
  8.  
  9. If the test lamp does not illuminate there is a loose connection, open or short to ground in the fused power window relay output circuit
  10.  
  11. Connect the power window master switch.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the driver power window motor.
  14.  
  15. Connect a test lamp between the power window motor left front up circuit at the power window motor connector and a good ground.
  16.  
  17. Operate the driver power window in the up direction.
  18.  
  19. If the test lamp does not illuminate, check the power window left front up circuit for a short to ground, open or high resistance. Check the connector and wiring for damage. If the wiring and connector are fine replace the switch.
  20.  
  21. Connect a test lamp between the power window motor left front down circuit at the power window motor connector and a good ground.
  22.  
  23. Operate the driver power window in the down direction.
  24.  
  25. If the test lamp does not illuminate, check the power window left front down circuit for a short to ground, open or high resistance. Check the connector and wiring for damage. If the wiring and connector are fine replace the switch.
  26.  
  27. Connect a test lamp between the power window motor left front up and down circuits at the power window motor connector.
  28.  
  29. Operate the left front power window in the up and down directions.
  30.  
  31. If the test lamp does not illuminate in both directions, check the connector and wiring for damage. If the wiring and connector are fine replace the motor.

Removal & Installation
Window Motor & Regulator
  1. Unclip and remove the inner mirror garnish (6) from the door.
  2.  
  3. Remove the screw and trim cover from the front side door trim panel .
  4.  
  5. Remove the screw that retains the front side door trim panel 
  6.  
  7. Remove the front side door window regulator handle by using a cloth in order to pull off the snap ring, if equipped.
  8.  
  9. Using a taped flat bladed tool, gently pry the front side door accessory switch mounting plate from the front side door trim , if equipped.
  10.  
  11. Remove the front side door trim from the door by disengaging the 8 plastic retainers.

  13. Remove the 6 screws and the trim bracket.
  14.  
  15. Starting at the top, pull downward on the front side door water deflector in order to remove from the door edges.
  16.  
  17. Unroute any electrical connectors and the front side door inside handle cable from the water deflector, while removing the deflector from the vehicle
  18.  
  19. Remove the 3 screws and the access shield from the door, if equipped
  20.  
  21. Remove the 2 window-to-regulator bolts.
  22.  
  23. Remove the window by pulling up and out of the door
  24.  
  25. Disconnect the power window motor electrical connector, if equipped.
  26.  
  27. Remove the 6 bolts and the regulator assembly.
  28.  

To install:

  1. Apply a multipurpose grease to all lubrication and sliding points.
  2.  
  3. Install the window regulator to the door. Tighten the regulator bolts to 71 in. lbs. (8 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the power window motor electrical connector, if equipped
  6.  
  7. Install the window to the door. Tighten the window to the regulator with the bolts . Tighten the bolts to 71 in. lbs. (8 Nm
  8.  
  9. Install the access shield to the door, if equipped. Secure the shield with the 3 screws.
  10.  
  11. Install the remaining components in the reverse order of removal.
  12.  

Window Switch
  1. Using a taped flat bladed tool, gently pry the front side door accessory switch mounting plate from the front side door trim , if equipped.
  2.  
  3. Unplug the switch connectors.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
