REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
The distributor on fuel injected engines has two breaker plates. The first is the normal breaker point plate for the ignition system. The second plate, mounted in the base of the distributor head, carries two similar breaker assemblies which regulate fuel injection. There is no adjustment provided for the injection trigger contact breakers. To replace the trigger contacts:
- Remove the distributor cap. Pull out the triple plug and disconnect the flat plug at terminal 1 of the coil. Loosen the clamp and remove the distributor after noting the rotor position and marking the relationship between the engine block and the distributor body.
- Remove the two contact plate holding screws.
- Pull out the plate holder.
- Reverse the procedure to install the new plate holder. If ignition timing is correct, the injection timing will also be correct.
