Washer Motor (Pump) & Reservoir



Removal & Installation

The reservoir is behind the trim panel in the right side of the luggage compartment. Remove the 2 screws and pull the reservoir out to disconnect the wiring and hose. The pump is held to the reservoir with a grommet.

Wiper Arm



Removal & Installation
  1. Flip the cap up and pull it up to remove it.
  2.  
  3. Remove the nut to remove the arm.
  4.  
  5. When installing the arm, the end of the wiper blade should be 0.375 in. (10mm) from the base of the window.
  6.  
  7. Tighten the nut to 5 ft. lbs. (7 Nm). Do not over tighten this nut or the linkage will bind.
  8.  
  9. Install the cap.

Wiper Motor



Removal & Installation
  1. To remove the wiper arm, perform the following:
    1. Turn the ignition ON and briefly operate rear wiper to ensure the rear wiper is in the park position.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    4.  
    5. Fold open cover cap and pull off from wiper arm.
    6.  
    7. Loosen the nut, but do not remove it yet.
    8.  
    9. Fold up wiper arm and rock back and forth on shaft until it releases.

    11. Remove nut and remove wiper arm.

  3. To remove the rear wiper motor, perform the following:
    1. Remove inner, lower trim from rear lid
    2.  
    3. Disconnect electrical connection (1) from wiper motor.
    4.  
    5. Pull off hose -2- to washer jet.
    6.  
    7. Remove nuts -arrows- and remove wiper motor.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, noting the following:
    1. Make sure the wiper shaft seal is seated correctly in the rear window.
    2.  
    3. Connect the negative battery cable.
    4.

  3. To install the wiper arm, perform the following:
    1. Turn the ignition ON and briefly operate rear wiper to bring rear wiper to park position.
    2.  
    3. Place the wiper arm on shaft in approximate end position.
    4.  
    5. Install the nut and tighten hand-tight only at this time.
    6.  
    7. Set rear wiper rest position, as shown in the accompanying illustration. Loosen and adjust the wiper arm to obtain the proper specification.
    8.  
    9. After adjustment is completed, tighten the wiper arm nuts to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).

  1. Make sure the wiper arm is in the rest position, then turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wiper arm, as follows:
    1. Fold up the wiper nut cap.
    2.  
    3. Loosen, but do not remove the 13mm wiper arm mounting nut.
    4.  
    5. Fold up wiper arm and remove it from cone, by wiggling it back and forth sideways.
    6.  
    7. Remove mounting nut, then remove the wiper arm from the wiper motor shaft.
    8.

  5. Remove the rear lid trim.
  6.  
  7. Detach the harness connector from the rear wiper motor.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the rear window washer hose.
  10.  
  11. Unfasten the 10mm mounting nuts.

  13. Carefully pull the rear wiper motor from the rear lid.

To install:

  1. Installation of the rear wiper motor is reverse of removal, noting the following:
    1. Check the seal in the opening of the rear window to be sure it is seated properly.
    2.  
    3. Tighten all retainers to the specifications listed on the accompanying table.

  3. Install the rear wiper arm, as follows:
    1. Switch rear window wipers on and off again with ignition on in order to drive wiper motor into rest position.
    2.  
    3. Place the wiper arm on the wiper arm shaft in roughly the rest position, then hand-tighten the.

  5. Set the rest position of the rear window wiper, as follows (refer to the illustration):
    1. The distance (a) between wiper blade and lower edge of windshield must be 25 mm (measured from lower edge of glass).
    2.  
    3. Adjust rest position of wiper blade by shifting wiper arm, if necessary.
