Removal & Installation



Door Panel
Double Rear Door
  1. Remove the left and right double rear door trim as shown in the accompanying illustrations.
  2.  
  3. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Front Doors
With Manual Windows
  1. Crank the window down.
  2.  
  3. Remove the window crank, as follows:
    1. Unclip the cover in direction of arrow.
    2.  
    3. Remove the Phillips screw with toothed washer.
    4.  
    5. Remove the window crank with crank shim.

  5. Remove the locking knob -5- and pry off escutcheon trim -6-.
  6.  
  7. Turn the inner part of clip -8- out with Allen wrench.
  8.  
  9. Remove trim -4-, remove fillister-head screws -3-, remove handle -2-.
  10.  
  11. Remove Phillips screw -10-.
  12.  
  13. To remove the door trim, lift the trim with inside window slot seal out of mounting holes in direction of arrow shown in the illustration.

To install:


NOTE
Before installing trim, install hook -3- into mounting holes.

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Install the window crank as shown in the accompanying illustration:
    1. After installation the window crank must be in the position shown when the window is closed.
    2.  
    3. Arrow = driving direction
    4.  
    5. Angle -a- = 25 ° + 12 °

With Power Windows
  1. Carefully pry off the speaker cover.
    NOTE
    When installing, note recess in the door trim (arrow) and corresponding guide tab on the speaker cover.

  3. Remove the Phillips screws from speaker
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the locking tabs and speaker from door trim.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the speaker wiring connector.
  8.  
  9. Remove the Phillips screws.
  10.  
  11. Press the grommet for speaker wire into inside of door.
  12.  
  13. Place the window up, in the fully closed position.
  14.  
  15. Carefully pry out the window regulator (and mirror adjustment) switch and disconnect electrical connectors.
  16.  
  17. Remove the lock knob.
  18.  
  19. Remove inner part of clip using an Allen wrench and pull the clip out of the hole.
  20.  
  21. Pry off the trim, remove the screws, then remove the base/handle.
  22.  
  23. Remove the Phillips screw.

  25. Take the door trim together with inside window slot seal out of attachment holes in direction of arrow.

  27. Guide wiring for speaker and power window/mirror through trim.
    NOTE
    Before installing the trim, attach tape in the attachment holes and guide wires for speaker and power window/mirror through trim.

Sliding Doors
  1. To remove the sliding door trim panel, refer to the accompanying illustration and note the following steps.
  2.  
  3. To remove the front frame trim, pry out and unclip the buffer plug.
  4.  
  5. To remove the bottom sliding door form trim:
    1. Unscrew the lock knob and pry the collar out.
    2.  
    3. Pry off the cap, then remove the Phillips-head screw.
    4.  
    5. Pry out the buffer plug, unclip front frame trim and rear frame trim.
    6.  
    7. Unclip bottom sliding door form trim.
    8.

  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Tailgate
  1. To remove the sliding door trim panel, refer to the accompanying illustration and note the following steps.

  3. To remove the trim, refer to the illustration and the following:
    1. Press the trim up and unhook
    2.  
    3. Remove Phillips screw and unhook strap
    4.  
    5. Pry out expanding pins, unclip left frame trim and right frame trim.
    6.  
    7. Remove the screws.
    8.  
    9. Pull molded trim out slightly from tailgate in lower area and press upward out of clamps.

  5. Expand the clamps (1) with wood or plastic wedges (2). Install the molded trim (3), then remove the wedges (2) or, when the molded trim is installed, the wedges will fall out by themselves.

  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
