Adjustment



Only adjust the parking brake after replacing parking brake cables, brake calipers and/or brake (disc) rotor.

  1. Make sure the parking brake lever is in the fully released position.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the adjustment nut until the levers lift off the stops at the brake calipers. Refer to the accompanying illustrations.

  5. The maximum permitted play is 1.0 mm to stop.

  7. Tighten the parking brake and then release again.
    NOTE
    Because the rear brakes have an automatic adjustment function, readjusting the parking brake is usually not necessary (following initial adjustment).

  9. Check to make sure the wheels turn freely.
