The mono-motronic system is used on the ACC engine. It integrates the ignition and fuel system together. This system has a built in diagnostic function that detects and stores codes. Fuel is controlled through the use of various sensors that relay information to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). Through a constant monitoring of such parameters as the oxygen content of the exhaust, camshaft position and throttle position the fuel management system can maintain the correct air fuel ratio under all engine operating conditions. The ECM has the ability to control components such as the intake manifold heater, fuel injectors, ignition coil, and Evaporative Canister Purge Regulator Valve (EVAP).
