Fig. A hex key is required to remove the oil pump pickup bolts
Fig. Once the bolts have been removed, pull the oil pump pickup tube down and toward you. You may have to gently rock the tube to free it from the pump
Fig. A ratchet and a socket can be used to speed the removal of the oil pump bolts
Fig. As always, note the location and length of each bolt upon removal
Fig. Remove the lower pump housing to inspect the gears
Fig. A gear driven pump produces pressure by compressing the oil with the teeth of the gears as they spin

Raise and safely support the vehicle and remove the oil pan.
Remove the mounting bolts and lower the pump from the engine.
Install the oil pump in the reverse order of removal.
Observe the following values:
Oil pump bottom cover bolts-7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm)
Oil pump suction foot bolts-7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm)
Oil pump retaining bolts-18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm)
