Turn Signal and Parking Lights
1990-93 MODELS

Depending on the vehicle and bulb application, either unscrew and remove the lens or disengage the bulb and socket assembly from the rear of the lens housing.

  1. Raise and support the hood.
  2.
  3. Working from inside the engine compartment, twist the socket 1 / 4 turn counterclockwise, then remove the bulb and socket assembly.
  4.

Do not remove the electrical connector from the socket.

  1. Depress the bulb and twist it 1 / 4 turn counterclockwise, then remove the bulb.
  2.

To install:
  1. Before installing a light bulb into the socket, ensure that all electrical contact surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt.
  2.

Before installing the light bulb, note the positions of the two retaining pins on the bulb. They will likely be at different heights on the bulb, to ensure that the bulb is installed correctly. If, when installing the bulb, it does not turn easily, do not force it. Remove the bulb and rotate it 180 degrees from its former position, then reinsert it into the bulb socket.

  1. Insert the light bulb into the socket and, while depressing the bulb, twist it 1 / 8 turn clockwise until the two pins on the light bulb are properly engaged in the socket.
  2.
  3. To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it too is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct if necessary.
  4.
  5. If applicable, install the socket and bulb assembly into the rear of the lens housing; otherwise, install the lens over the bulb.
  6.

1994-98 MODELS

See Figures 2, 3, 4 and 5

  1. The lamp assembly is held into place by a retaining spring. Pull the lamp assembly out to access the bulb.
  2.

If you use great care, you can turn the lamp around and wedge it so that it will stay, leaving both your hands free to change the bulb.

  1. Press the tabs and remove the bulb assembly.
  2.
  3. Remove the bulb by turning it to release the locking tabs.
  4.

To install:
  1. Install a new bulb and place the bulb assembly into the lens, ensuring that the gasket is installed.
  2.
  3. Push the bulb assembly in until the tabs engage.
  4.
  5. Pull the lamp assembly out and position it, then release the tension, allowing the spring to pull it back into place; this may require several tries.
  6.

  2.
  3. Line up the base of the light bulb with the socket, then insert the light bulb into the socket until it is fully seated.
  4.
